In July 2015, Dr. Andrew expanded the family practice by adding a second location in Paola, Kansas. With more than 35 years in business, we have always prided ourselves on providing first-class dental care with exceptional professionalism since we first opened our doors in Lenexa in August 1981. At HERWIG DDS, we are a family owned practice and treat our patients as such. We are always welcoming new patients and we hope to make you a part of our dental family!
Dr. Andrew
Dr. Andrew has been a member of the Herwig DDS family since before he could walk. His father, Robert V. Herwig, DDS, was the practice’s previous owner for more than 30 years. After spending many hours in the family office, Dr. Andrew knew he wanted to follow in his father’s footsteps and become a dentist.
To achieve this goal, Dr. Andrew started his education at the University of Kansas, graduating in 2010 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Cell Biology and a Minor in Business. He then attended the University of Missouri – Kansas City School of Dentistry, graduating and becoming licensed as a DDS in 2015. Dr. Andrew is continually educating himself to deliver the highest quality customer service and best possible care to his patients. He is also a member of the American Dental Association, Kansas Dental Association and Fifth District Dental Society.
Outside of the office, Dr. Andrew loves spending time with his wife, Emma, daughters, Ava, Emmie, and Kate, and dog, Rosie. They love traveling, golfing, cheering on KU and being outside – whether it is going on walks, grilling in the backyard, tailgating with friends or being at the lake.
Julie – Receptionist/Dental Assistant
Julie has been working in dentistry for over 43 years! Her favorite part of the job is building relationships with her patients and ensuring they have the best possible dental experience. Julie and her husband Mark have been married for 42 years, and have two beautiful daughters, two son-in-laws, a granddaughter, and another on the way! Outside of the office she enjoys gardening, the lake, going to the gym, exploring new restaurants, wineries and traveling. Above all, she enjoys spending time with her growing family.
Kate – Office Manager
Kate joined the Herwig DDS team in October of 2023. Kate manages the front desk responsibilities and patient relations. You’ll see her as you check in and out of our office!
Kate studied psychology at the University of Missouri. Working in dentistry is completely new for her, but she is excited to learn everything she can and meet all of the friendly faces who visit the office!
Outside of work Kate enjoys reading, traveling, playing with her dog Beau, and spending time with friends and family.
